OUR OBJECTIVES

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an important scientific and technological achievement of human agricultural society and an existence that integrates philosophy, science and aesthetics. In a society without mechanization and instrumentation, relying on people’s own perception and experience of the body, many theories and methods of TCM embody our Chinese unremitting wisdom. Even though, it is the benchmark of traditional medicine of the world, as human society has come to the wearable electronic age, TCM inevitably needs significant modernization to realize its value so that it can be rejuvenated and make more outstanding contributions to modern human health.

In order to explore the application of wearable electronic devices in diagnosis, treatment, objective and quantitative evaluation in curative effect of TCM, universities and research institutes in basic research and industrialization, City University of Hong Kong and China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly organize the first international conference on wearable electronic devices and their potential applications in modernization of TCM. The conference is to provide a platform for scientists from universities and research institutes, hi-tech industries as well as hospitals to exchange views on modernization of traditional medicine and effective approaches. It will facilitate the integration of modern science and technology with TCM through exchange among experts in multi-disciplinary environment by seeking solutions for the objectification, quantification and standardization of TCM. At the same time, through interaction of researchers and practitioners, through cross-disciplinary exchange, the conference can establish research partnership and lay a solid foundation in technical exchange and mutual cooperation in research, development and education.
